One-Color Rainbow
Rainbows are usually a spectrum of colors ranging from red to violet, but an occasional arc appears to have only one color. Sometimes near sunset, a multihued rainbow turns bright red because it is reflecting and refracting only the sun’s last, longest red rays. The red rainbow will remain suspended above the eastern horizon several minutes after sunset because the sun is still shining on the raindrops high in the sky.
