Following is a conversation which took place on the Internet between Helen and her friend, Crunet, who lives in Los Angeles. While they were talking, Crunet experienced an earthquake.

Crunet: hey
Helen: gad! do you LIVE on the internet?
C: nope sorry
C: do u like want me to not "IM" my "sister" when shes on?
C: HEY THERE WAS AN EARTHQUAKE HERE!!
H: when?
C: right be4 i typed that
H: whoa, cool! quick, describe what happened
C: actually must likely a rocket went off
C: but it sure felt like a quake
H: hmmm...were you scared? what did you do?
C: i just sat there turned off my music and "rode the sucka"
H: how large was it? magnitude wise? (doyou think)
C: i dunno prolly round 2-4 somewhere there
C: no as bad as the northridge one
H: hmmm...did anything shake or break?
C: nope just the ground
H: hmmm...is it like, normal, for you now? just another quake? i mean you've been through so many, right?
C: :-) yup me being in LA and all...
C: haven't felt one in a while though
H: yeah...can i use your comments in my website?
C: sure why not
C: what website
H: thanks...my new thinkquest site...you guys are ok and everything, right? well, i would assume so, since you're still talking to me
C: yuppers
C: can i coop on that thinkquest site?
H: huh?
H: what is "coop"?
C: co-operate
C: this is what my friend said "my mom put in on ch, 12 and they just said something about an earthquake, maybe it was in the southland"
H: you've already helped me a lot...do want to be interviewed? then i could put your name on the site and everything =)
C: sure
C: what is it on?
H: cool - it's about natural disasters and stuff, so i could ask you about all the earthquakes you've been in
H: i'll e-mail you some questions later on, ok?
C: just remember this one
C: ok
C: but i wanna do a thinkquest thing too ya know
H: so then you'll have to make your own team and choose your own topic and everything
C: great...
C: HELEN!!
