It is possible to get rid of fog through artificial dissipation. In experiments, a jar of fog will disappear after three or four sparks are discharged within it. Another way to make fog go away is to spray electrified water into the atmosphere. When this method was tried in the open, however, results were less reassuring. Nature’s way of dissipating fog is through evaporation, but this depends on the degree of saturation, air motion, air temperature, and the evaporating liquid. Fog could also be forced to condense, but this would require a lot of energy to precipitate the fog droplets.
