Posthumous
Titles
People were given a posthumous name or title in
the past when they die. Confucius
was one man who received many such titles for
his numerous achievements when he was alive. Titles
such as Cultural Dissemination; Master Kong; Fu
Zi(The Master); Kong Fuzi(Kong the Master) and
many more were given to him. Not only the people
of distinction received this honor. A Yao
Person is given a religious title, often prepared
by a village elder when that person is alive.
This title is added to the person's name and becomes
his posthumous name.
