He then gave himself the title "Lord of Asia". At one point in his military career Alexander got as far as to invade India, but was forced to turn around because his men refused to go any further. Alexander the Great had many different tactics. One of his tactics was to have a train of supply bearers travel behind his army. This improved his warfare on 2 accounts. Number one, his army could move faster than any army of the time, because the weight of the supplies was spread around many people. Number two, when his soldiers got to the battle ground they were not fatigued from carrying a great weight. Alexander also was known for his use of huge siege machines. He used catapults, mobile towers and battering rams.
