 Introduction

Roswell is a city in southeastern New Mexico. It was an ordinary place, among others, until, in 1947, an unusual incident took place. From that time on, this quiet community was never the same…

Explanation and description

On July 4 1947, Roswell became the centre of historical and controversial argument when a UFO crashed on a ranch owned by rancher Mac Brazel. Actually, it was only Mr. and Mrs. Dan Wilmot, both living in that farming and ranching community, who saw a supposed UFO. To Mr. Wilmot it appeared to be about 1,500 feet high, and moving at approximately 400 to 500 miles per hour. He added that it had an oval shape-like two old washbowls placed together. The object beamed as if lights were glowing through from inside.

 Using the evidence

It was about that time that Mac Brazel discovered a significant amount of crash ruins while inspecting his livestock after thunderstorms. The debris had scattered over a large area, and created a thin gash several hundred feet long. Some of the fragments had odd physical characteristics. After taking some pieces to his neighbours, he called the sheriff who then informed Roswell Army Air Field. Shortly after, the military blocked the area for days to salvage the remains. In the beginning, it was taken to Roswell Army Air Field and then brought to Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio.

 The Government’s involvement

At first, the U.S. Government acknowledged that something strange had happened in Roswell. It then quickly dispatched agents to cover the incident up, and finally denied that anything occurred at Roswell. One local planter found a piece of destroyed craft, and tried to burn it-in vain. The farmer said that the "metal" was exceptionally lightweight - and was absolutely indestructible. Government delegates seized the metal, leaving no evidence of the accident. Some people feel that the U.S. Military still retains possession of a complete Extraterrestrial saucer.

History never change

Despite the fact that the incident occurred fifty years ago, this part of New Mexico is still the home of the most significant and verifiable UFO event in modern history. However, many people are not truly aware that this event was so well known, or that it existed at all. There has been extensive and thorough information on the recovery of wreckage and linked events. Some years ago investigators found a copy of the 1947 Roswell Air Field yearbook that allowed locating eyewitnesses. Newspapers at the time show that during late June and early July 1947, there were a significant number of validated rumours by honourable witnesses-including pilots, of "flying disks" (UFOs). These were not only seen in the United States but also in Canada.

Given theories

Some person declare that there was a mistake and somehow confused a weather balloon and its radar reflector with the wreckage of a "flying disk" i.e. UFO.

UFO promoters believe there is evidence that the "weather balloon" was the beginning of a conceal, now considered by many as the "Cosmic Watergate." Witnesses

The first witness interviewed was retired Lieutenant Colonel Jesse Marcel. He stated, "...it was not a weather balloon, nor was it an airplane or a missile". As to the striking properties of some of the material, he stated, "It would not burn... that stuff weighs nothing, it's so thin, it isn't any thicker than the tinfoil in a pack of cigarettes. So, I tried making a dent in it with a sixteen-pound sledge hammer, and there was still no dent in it".

The declaration of Mr.Glenn Dennis leaves little doubt about what was discovered in 1947. On the evening of the crash, he went to the base hospital. What he saw was totally bizarre to him: “two military ambulances with open rear doors, from which several pieces of wreckage were visible, including one with a row of symbols on its surface”. At that moment, he was noticed by military police. He was threatened and escorted from the building.

Besides Glenn Dennis, other witnesses were frightened off or even threatened by military police. Mac Brazel, who discovered the ruins, was questioned by the military for a week and sworn to silence. According to reports, he refuses to speak about the occurrence.

Sceptic’s point of view

Although, the incident, which took place in Roswell, is surrounded by fake claims and hoaxes, the recognized evidence does not emerge to be so, but a well document happening. According to UFO campaigner and Nuclear Physicist Stanton Friedman..." for obvious reasons, it is necessary that the military and intelligent agencies impose a certain amount of secrecy". In modern years, however, many witnesses agree that the use of government secrecy has become extreme and even perhaps unnecessary.

Conclusion

How can anyone have any personal view if there are so much contradictory data? Can only the paranormal explain these incidents? In spite of all these unanswered questions, all this have really happened and we cannot change that!!!
