Sharon

Hi!

My name's Sharon.  I was born 13 years ago and live in Mauritius.  I liked dancing, singing and all the other things that teens like to do, but now I think web designing will be on top of the list (ok, second).  I'm crazy about Britney Spears.  This project has really brought me something.  It showed me what is real team spirit and how to cope with two important things together: school and the Thinkquest project.  The first time I heard about Thinkquest, I was really excited.  I was persuaded that my friends and I were going to be able to put up a website for this competition.  Many people told us that this was an absurd project and almost impossible 'cause neither of us were really expert in doing websites (in fact, not even novices).  But well, here it is, the fruit of all our efforts.  Though, I must send many thanks to our coach and to my brother, who both have helped us greatly.  Even if this website isn't a finalist, I will still be proud of it.  What counts is to participate, after all! Anyway, thanks for visiting!

Hi everyone!

I am Nadia Hossenmamode and my birthday is on the 16th April 1986.  My hobbies are reading, writing, programming and doing any thing on my computer! I attend the "Queen Elizabeth College" of Rose-Hill, one of the most prestigious schools in Mauritius.  When we started this "Thinkquest" project, I never thought that I would change so much.  This project made me understand that everything thing in life should not be explained and expected. If so, we will lose the magic of living.  To conclude, I will simply say: "Life is made up of dreams.  Keep on dreaming all your life and live your dreams, as without dreams, life is not worth being lived!"

Karen

Hi!

I guess you don't know me, huh? SO, I'll introduce myself.  My name is Karen.  As my life is dull and boring, I would have liked to pass the details but... I'll tell you anyway.  I'm 14, a student of QEC, living in my motherland: Mauritius.  I hope you know where it is! (just kidding) Everyday I wake up, go to school etc... (you know how life goes on).  My hobbies are reading, watching TV, dancing, singing, listening to music, hanging with friends.  Well just having fun.  I like the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Westlife, Boyzone etc... (to infinite).  I must admit that I did not know a soul about Thinkquest.  And one day BOUM!  My life changed (ok I'm exaggerating).  My friend proposed me to join her group.   The idea seemed appealing and my answer came automatically. I blurted out 'YES'.  I never suspected to participate in a worldwide project and that many people (if not a few) would visit our website.  This work has needed a lot of sweating, thinking and sometimes missing lunch and I hope you have appreciated the result.  If not, please say so! Bye!

Hello Surfers,

Welcome to our site, you have already been introduced to our team members Sharon, Nadia and Karen. Well, I am Vimla Luchmun and I am the coach of this fantastic team who is working on paranormal phenomena. We come from a lovely paradise – an island of the Indian Ocean known as Mauritius with its stretch of blue sky, sea and sands. An island of dreams for many people around the world and a priced tourist resort too. Yet the mystery of the Unknown fascinates us and we would like to share our knowledge.

I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Social Sciences from the University of Mauritius. I am a secondary school teacher in Sociology at the Queen Elizabeth College in Mauritius, one of the best secondary school institutions. Besides, teaching, I also do part time research assistant’s job on a number of social research projects at the University of Mauritius. I am also a member of the “Jeune Chambre Economique” i.e. the Junior Chamber, an international voluntary organization that groups young professionals from all socio – economic spheres of life.

I like writing poems, watching films, reading fiction books and thrillers, going out with friends, driving and surfing the net. I really like music and right now I like the Backstreet Boys “Tell me the meaning…” and “Rhythm Divine” by Enrique….

I learnt about Thinkquest by my students: Sharon, Nadia and Karen. I think it is a well-appreciated initiative that they participated in the competition. I believe that we learn through our actions and we’ll learn more about a road by traveling it than by consulting all the maps of the world. This project is a dream for my team and we strongly feel that “dreams come true for those who work while they dream”.

  Have Fun viewing this site!!!
