{Roller Coaster - Hall of Fame} There are some pretty big, mean coasters out there. We did some searching and found the fastest, highest coasters, as well as some historic moments in coaster history. Here is the Internet Fairground's "Roller Coaster Hall of Fame!"
Tallest roller coaster- The Millennium Force at Cedar Point is also the tallest, at a towering 310 feet! Longest drop on a coaster- The Millennium Force at Cedar Point takes the prize again, with a drop of 300 feet! Other records the Millennium Force has
broken include: First stand-up coaster- The King Cobra at Paramount's King's Island is the first coaster that you actually have to stand up to ride. First inverted coaster- Batman the Ride at Six Flags Great America was the first inverted coaster, where the track is above the riders. First coaster to use the loop without problems- The Great American Revolution at Six Flags Magic Mountain was the first coaster to use the loop since the first attempt in 1846. Biggest Selling Roller Coaster- The Boomerang was created by a firm in the Netherlands, and it turns riders upside-down six times in a short period of time and with not much space. Most physically abusive ride- The Cyclone at Crystal Beach was created by Harry Traver in 1927, but was torn down when no one would ride it because of their injuries on the coaster. See Also: |
