Queesland, New South Wales, Victoria, South
Australia
The bearded dragon gets its
common name from the spines that surround its
throat. When the throat pouch is extended
during displays, the spines bristle outwawrd
like a beard. The bearded dragon is a diurnal
reptile and is semiarboreal, living both on
the ground and in trees. It feeds on insects
and other arthropods as well as soft plant
materials.
