We welcome and invite you to share your experiences or collections of photos/images /video or audio clips which are of relevance to the history of Singapore during the Japanese Occupation. We would like to continually update and expand on the collections here so that this can be a virtual archive of historical sources, primary or secondary. Please feel free to email us at C002071@thinkquest.org if you have first-hand experience of the Japanese Occupation or know of someone who was a witness to this period in history. We are especially interested to collaborate with students in the UK, Japan or Australia so that we can explore other perspectives of war in Singapore and Malaya.

The video clips collection in here are actual digital video which we have taken during our visits to different World War Two sites in Singapore as well as interviews we have conducted. We hope that this will continue to be a growing video archive of personal memories or recollections of this important period in Singapore history.

Just like the video collection, we hope to keep a growing archive of audio interviews as well as historical newsreels and speeches. We will continue to add new audio clips to this collection.

Newspapers are important chronicles of the culture and politics of the times. We have included a collection of newspapers published during the time when Singapore was Syonanto. Through the study of these newspapers, we can achieve a deeper understanding of this historical period.
