Ms
Joyce Lee, Coach
She
teaches English and History at Serangoon Graden Technical School and is
an unending source of inspiration and support for our ThinkQuest project.
She has provided invaluable assistance in guiding us to sources of information
on the web as well as at the libraries and the National Archives of Singapore.
Furthermore, she has brought us on field trip to World War Two sites in
Singapore so that we could gather data for the Virtual Trip section of
our website. Her expertise and knowledge in multimedia authoring has assisted
us in the design of the interactive multimedia sections of our website,
we are especially thankful for the time she spent teaching us to use the
various multimedia and web authoring software like Dreamweaver, Photoshop,
Director, Flash and Apple iMovie. She has provided artistic inspiration
and ideas which have led to the creation of original gif animation and
cartoon drawings using WebPainter which is used in certain sections of
the website.
Ms
Laura Yzelman, Coach
She
teaches English and Gepgraphy at Naval Base Sec School. As an English
teacher, she has helped in the editing and proofreading of our pages as
well as contributed interesting lesson ideas for teachers on how to use
the site in the classroom. She feels that using information technology
in educating students serves not only to motivate and facilitate learning,
but also to inspire and assist in teaching. She thinks it is exciting
to witness the enthusiasm with which students today master the intricacies
of an electronically-linked world to learn, and to teach.

I
am a 15 years old and a student of Serangoon Garden Technical School.
I am in charge of the research and design of the website. It has been
an enriching experience, and I have benefitted a great deal from my participation
in this project. Not only have I learnt more about the history of Singapore,
I am also now able to emphatise with the experiences of the people who
had lived through this difficult period in history especially after conducting
interviews with them and visiting World War Two sites in Singapore. I
hope to see more collaboration with different students from different
countries who visit our website which is not just about the history of
World War Two in Singapore but about the lessons which we can learn from
such experiences. I am sure many people have interesting stories and experiences
to share and I hope these can be added to the website in future.

He
is the only member of our group not residing in Singapore at the moment.
As he is in San Francisco ,USA, it is difficult for him to access information
on Singapore history. But, we have kept in contact mainly through email
and we mailed him the relevant printed materials which we have found in
Singapore. He is in charge of the more creative aspects of the website,
ie the fictional journal of a POW as well as some of the write-up for
certain sections. He loves to play computer games, hang out with friends,
play rugby and watch hilarious movies. He is currently studying in Archbishopriordan
School in the tenth grade. He has learnt that it takes hard work a lot
of knowlegdge and long hours to complete a project of this size. He admires
the many people who have taken their time and worked so hard on this project.
But he mostly believe in the fact that he can do anythimg he puts his
mind to.
Thanks
to the following people for their help, encouragement and support in every
way possible especially after endless long nights and sometimes frustrating
moments when problems arise:

( for your patience, understanding and infinite kindness), Yogini (for
your guidance and encouragement) , Grace ( for being there to listen to
our complaints), Yee Tyng ( for your valuable feedback), Elisha(without
whom this project may never have started), Mr Samy ( for letting us interview
him), Mrs Seah ( for the interview and the tonic you so kindly supplied)
and Mathana (for your compliments) .
Thanks
is due to Sec 2E1/E2 students who contributed and helped in any way, but
especially to Melissa and Chee Yong for their artistic talent and flair.
