Today there are many possibilities to learn to draw or to paint. Of course there is the regular education with art lessons in the school curriculum, you can follow courses of all kind at several art schools as a hobby or as a professional, and you can do a correspondence course. Vincent had to do in his time with some French art courses: Bargue's "Excercises au fusain" and "Cours de dessin" he borrowed from his former master at Goupil at The Hague and from his brother Theo. He also copies several times the "traveaux des champs", engravings made from paintings of "Father" Millet with farmers, working at the land. He makes copies of drawings and paintings of famous artists from the past like Hans Holbein from Germany. Vincent has no teachers to give him comments but he sends his work to his brother Theo and he asks him and his friend Anthon van Rappard to give advice.

In our site you can find an art course on the internet: you may upload your paintings or sketches and our art teacher will look at your work and do some suggestions on line in word and image to improve your work.
