The Mohicans (or Moicani or Mahican) they are a tribe of Indians of America, belonging to the group linguistic algonchino, once appropriated in the United States northeastern, in the region of the Green Mountains, but migrated toward the basin of the Hudson in the XVII sec. The Mohicanis were agriculturists and fishermen seminomadi. In the XVIII sec. you/they were pushed by the white farmers toward west, and the new conditions of life forced them to become nomadic hunters. I/you/they have passed to the history for the description that has done J. F. Cooper of it in the novel The last of the Mohicans. The historians attribute the foundation of the most ancient village to them in the area in Manhattan (New York). A small part of the Mohicanis survived alive currently in a reserve of the northeastern Wisconsin.
