FLATHEADS

The Flatheadses are a tribe of language Salish, that occupied the territory of western Montana. Met by Lewis and Clark for the first time in 1805. You/they had divided in gangs and they were hunters of bisons and fishermen. After their transfer in the actual reserve of Montana, near the Flathead Lake, not resistettero and you/they were absorbed by the tribes allied of the Salishes and of the Kutenais. Although they lived to the limits of the culture of the Indians of the Lowlands, father's paintings Nicolas Pint, that was the responsible of their Catholic mission around 1840, shows them in suits and attitudes, particularly that of the hunting to the buffalo, typical of the Indians of the Lowlands.
