CREEK

The Creek are a tribe of Indians of America appartenenti to the linguistic group of the Muskhogees. They occupy a vast territory that in the XVIII sec. he/she understood big part of the Alabama and Georgia. In that same century they organized an ample confederation, that had nevertheless a limited success. They were sedentary agriculturists. During the war of American independence, although they sided for English, they preferred to stay neutral, trying of to live in peace with the American farmers only; in 1813-1814 they tried of to oppose to the white that wanted to chase them from their earths, but you/they were defeated by the federal troops and, in 1836, you/they were moved by the government to the Oklahoma, where they live today still around 20.000 individuals, of which some has succeeded in preserving the ancient traditions.
