Piranha

The piranha is a creature which has been greatly exaggerated over the years. Out of the 18 odd species of piranhas, only 4 truly pose a threat to humans. Piranhas usually attack animals that struggle or make a lot of splashing noises in the water. Piranhas usually hunt in a pack, however, animosity is present among the pack. The piranhas constantly attack each another in feeding frenzies. A piranha usually grows to a length of 27 cm. The piranha is easily distinguished from other fish in the amazon river by it’s red-orange underbelly.
