The Great Egret (Casmerodius albus)

The great egret has yellow bill, black legs and feet, with a wingspan of about 50 in.

The great egret is a migratory bird. It travels North even to Massachusetts during summer and can be found south of South Carolina during winter. It preys on fish, frogs, insects and even snakes. During the mating season, both genders attract mates by showing their back plumes. They lay 5 or 6 eggs each time.
