Brown Agouti (Dasyprocta variegata)
The brown agouti has small ears and long legs. It feeds on fruits, leaves and roots. At maturity, it can grow up to 61cm and weigh about 1.8kg.
This rodent is a forest scavenger. It moves with a jumping motion. The brown agoutis often bear 2 young each time. The young stay with their parents for about 20 weeks before their independence.
