But how can you prevent this of happening in the future??

The foreigner relief worker with help the Netherlands, give their answer very quick. They told that Nederland gives Zeeland back to the sea. But they didn't hear of the Zeeuwse saying: "Luctor Emergo" and from the lion witch is wrestle but comes up.

Give land to sea  ??  Never, that was the answer of the Dutch government.

After a long investigation and al option have balance. The government of Holland come to a resolution to choose the Delta works. But how and why this decision ?

First there was an old plan from the government namely a coast shorten. This make fight against the water easier. in 1939the ministry of transport an Public works set up a storm flood commissioner. This committee must look at the next problems.

 -The storm flood stand by the North Sea and the low river.

-The influence of the in dike river and mud work on the high water level.

- What are the weak link of the North sea coast and with measure will be taken ?

The commission  is take into account the rice of the rising of the sea and the fall of Holland till 2000. They come to the next conclusion; The dike heighten is on many places necessary. But not much higher. The government decide that the sea arms have to close this  has as advantage that the dike on the inland river don't have to get higher.

During the second world war this inquiry is forgotten . But not by the minister of transport and public works.

The minister of transport is during the occupation very busy with the study. The conclusion of that study is that the sea hole must be embank.
