Water can be beautiful or your worst enemy
The
water logging of 1995 was one of the worst, just like two years before the
threat came not from the sea but from Germany and Belgium. The Maas and the Rijn
had reached enormous heights due to plenty of rain. Huge areas seemed to be
flooded by water. The threat was so strong that 250.000 people had to leave
there houses.
At
the beginning of this new Millennium there is one big question, did we learn
anything from the floods? Could it happen again??
The
solutions, the stories and the threat are collected in this extensive
internet-project about water.
We
will pay attention to the period of the last 100 years in which water
logging regularly took place in Brabant, Zeeland, Gelderland and a part of
Zuid-Holland.
