There are many ways in which we can be active within our communities. There are many clubs and organisations, both social and political, that we can join. But a large part of every community, which is often overlooked, is schools.

For many young people, this is the biggest thing in life. Many young people are interested in getting themselves heard about issues in their schools and communities. What better way to do this than through a School Council!

Joining a student council can be a great way to meet people, can be good fun, and also a fantastic way to change things around your school

School Councils give students a voice within their institution, and give them some power over decisions made around the school and the direct community. An S.C.can also give you very good experience in action and project planning, and also public speaking.

Student Councils don't only specialise in school facility improvements and fundraising for the school, they also participate in local activities and raise money for organisations worldwide!

A student council can be a very effective way to get a lot of people behind a big issue. Through successful organisation, an S.C. can make a huge difference in many aspects of society.
