Comments: It seems the pool is the place for heroes at the Olympics. One of the more interesting is Eric from Equatorial Guinea in Africa. Eric learned to swim in a small hotel pool near his home. He had none of the high tech gear that today's record breakers have. During his swim, he was lucky to make the end of the pool. There were lifeguards at the ready. In the end, Eric was the only swimmer in his heat. He swam what was possibly one of the slowest swims ever in the Olympics - but he had great determination and tried his best in front of the world. Many others would not even have tried. He has lived the dream and shown that heroism is more than winning. |
