International Youth Parliament <http://www.caa.org.au/parliament> This is not my organisation but it is one worth looking at. International Youth Parliament 2000 aims to bring together 300 people aged 15 to 28 from 162 countries in a meeting of minds designed to help eradicate the world's problems.
They aim to come up with ideas and strategies to help fight poverty and aid young people who live in conflict situations. This site gives an overview of the conference and what it aims to do.

WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) <http://www.wspa.org.uk/home.html> This organisation aims to remove the cruel practices that at times are inflicted on animals around the world. At the moment, they have a number of specific campaigns that they have focused on for action. A critical one at the moment, is to stop the practice of bear farming to milk the bears of their bile. While this is prized in traditional medicine for its medicinal effects, the impact on bears is cruel. They suffer an agonising death.
The web site lists detailed action you can take to stop this and many other practices which are cruel to animals.
