SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS
he subjects you study and the place where you do it, depend on the type of family in which you are born. People think instruction will be useful to live when adults, not that it is part of the personal culture. Therefore everyone only learns what his parents think will be useful for him when he grows up. For the same reason, the son of a noble develops abilities which are different from those of a contemporary of humble origins. The education of a noble child is in fact very different from the education of a poor child.
The son of a merchant dedicates itself to other studies. Also the girls learn other things, different from those of the boys, because the society demands them to carry out different roles.
Moreover, it is the family that teaches a trade, the way you should behave and good manners. Noble parents often assume a tutor in order to follow their sons, while the merchants' children, living in city, attend the little local schools. The same sons of a merchant attend the rare institutes and the universities.
