THE AGE OF THE RENAISSANCE
After the seemingly endless dark ages that held music back from inspiring Europeans, music once again began to flourish, grow, change, and become an essential to human life. Renaissance period breathed badly needed life into music.
THE BAROQUE PERIOD
With the creation of the printing press, composers no longer feared the time it took to write multiple copies of music. In addition, the orchestra began to look more like an orchestra and not a melting pot of musicians. Due to the Baroque period, the future of music was secured.
THE CLASSICAL PERIOD
One of the greatest periods in music is the classical period. Europeans were calmed and thrilled by the music and instruments of such people as Beethoven, Mozart, and Haydn. The classical period of music still echoes down through the corridors of time, even into the present.
THE ROMANTIC PERIOD
To mark the new era of romanticism, many composers branched out and adopted new musical values and goals. For example, they began to value impusive and individuality music rather than the music of the classical era. This attitude brought new inspiration to the world of music, causing the era of romanticism to become one of the most prolific times for music.
THE EXPLOSION OF JAZZ
After many years of developing into an identifiable sound, jazz music came to the apex of its popularity in the first half of the twentieth century. For three decades, jazz was the mainstream of American popular music. During this time, technological advancement and music experimentation left an indelible influence on popular music. Therefore, the music evolved from its rough and tumble beginnings toward a finely tuned and highly experimental product.
