Assembling your own computer

Building your own computer is probably one of the most challenging and self-rewarding task of a computer maniac. In building your own computer, you get both the benefit of choosing the best parts and a low price for your dream machine. As said, it may not be, as most people would enjoy to term, "easy", but if you are O.K. at referring to manuals, willing, and got the tools, you should pull through in the end with a both self-satisfying and beautiful result.

What you will need
To create your own computer from scratch, you will first need to go and shop for the parts. A local computer parts dealer should be able to be easily found. Make sure you ask questions regarding the compatibility of your hardware with the motherboard from the dealer. TALK a lot before buying. The parts should all come with manuals and, if possible, under warranty. You will need, basically:

1. Screwdrivers, static mat (optional), etc.
2. A case with a power supply suitable with the motherboard
3. A Motherboard, complete with BIOS, Processor and RAM.
4. One or more Hard Disks
5. A Monitor and Video Card
6. A keyboard and mouse 6.
7. Floppy Drive (Optional)
8. A CD-ROM Drive OR/AND CD-Writer (Optional)
9. A Sound Card and speakers (Optional)
10. A 3D Graphics Accelerator (Optional)
11. A Ethernet card (Optional) (For networks)
12. Other external peripherals like printers, scanners, modems etc. (Optional)
