Petroleum is also known as crude oil. This organic substance which consists of carbon and hydrogen only is called hydrocarbon. Petroleum comes in many forms such as gases, liquids, solids or more than one form in a certain area. Petroleum plays a very important role in our lives as it is a very valuable source of energy. Besides that, petroleum is also used in the Petrochemicals industry which produces many products such as plastic products. Sources of petroleum are limited and are not renewable. Thus, we should use them wisely.
