About Abscissa Tech

ThinkQuest member site

Abscissa Tech breaks the mold of today's online curriculum sites. Not only is it dedicated to bringing quality web technology resources, tutorials, and courses to the world, but it does so at no cost to visitors or members. The Abscissa Tech team members are listed below:

Jonathan

Jonathan brings to the team skills in the area of graphic design and web page layout, with over five years of experience in the field of Internet design. He's built web sites for companies and organizations nationwide, and also specializes in software programming using C++. Jonathan is the author of PowerHTML, and a number of his articles on web site design have been published online at Microsoft Developer Network and WPDFD.

Jonathan also enjoys playing chess (two of his brothers are statewide chess champions), playing the piano, juggling, reading (everything from Sir Walter Scott to Jules Verne to "Inside Dynamic HTML"), and table tennis.

Nathan

Nathan is a self-proclaimed nerd. Nathan prefers to "play" with his 3d renderer rather than Quake, and has an uncanny attraction to all things arcane. He is very opinionated and argues long through the the night about senselessly insignificant details. When not programming, he plays the trumpet, juggles, races his road bicycle, or enjoys good humor. Unfortunately, his nerdship is marred by a single blemish: he can't stand caffeine. Hey, nobody's perfect.

Sarah

Sarah specializes in PHP and database programming, and shares the behind-the-scenes programming of the site with Nathan.

Sarah has been writing for her mom's magazine, Practical Homeschooling, for many years, and aspires to be a professional writer. Meanwhile, she plans to attend West Point. She enjoys reading, swimming, Tae Kwon Do (she has a green belt - watch out!), and juggling. (Yes, actually, it is a coincidence that all three team members juggle clubs.)
