Lessons Slikok Valley School

The Slikok Valley School was the last log school built in Alaskan territorial days. The land was donated by a local resident and community volunteers constructed the school. It was located only about four miles from Soldotna, Alaska. Until 1958 there were no roads into Slikok Valley, only a rough trail. The construction of the Kalifonski Beach Road in 1958 brought new settlers to this small community. It served as the local school until 1960.
