The UnWritten team owns the original photographs displayed within the site, except for those displayed in the 4 image slide show we received from Sue Countryman which is cited below.
The photo-stories within the site were written by The UnWritten team, with the exception of only a few that are cited below. Background music:
1. A small part of the midi for background music "Auld Lang Syne" at "/C001313/nav.htm" from "PD Music Sequenced by Benjamin Robert Tubb" http://www.pdmusic.org/default.htm, site created 12/27/99, last updated 7/29/00. Benjamin Tubb, brtubb@writeme.com, (8/4/00) . E-mail message.
Benjamin Tubb of "PD Music Sequenced by Benjamin Robert Tubb" gave The Unwrittten team permission to use a small part of his beautifully sequenced midi "Auld Lang Syne" (music written in 1799) and to convert it into MP3 so it could be used with Flash4 as our background loop.
Books:
1. Rose, Arthur P. "An Illustrated History of Nobles County Minnesota". Worthington, Minnesota: Northern History Publishing Company, 1908. One story: "The Wild Girl" from page 295.
After some extensive research we received confirmation that the copyright on this book had expired. We used the story "The Wild Girl" from page 295 which is about our Caroline Harrison and her father Benjamin R. Harrison, of the late 1800's in Nobles County, Minnesota. The location of this story from this book in The UnWritten site is:
/C001313/caroline.htm
This page is presented as a pop up window within the site and can be viewed in that manner here: Caroline Harrison.
2. Zapffe, Carl A. "Oldtimers... Stories Of Our Pioneers In The Cass And Crow Wing Lake Region". Brainerd, Minnesota: Historic Heartland Association, Incorporated, 1987.
This book was an exciting find and we went to some lengths to get permission to post small parts of the text from pages 126 through 129 within the UnWritten. Many of the photos used on these pages of the book were from the originals we now own. We finally were in contact by phone with one of the late Dr. Zapffe's daughters, who gave us the e-mail address of another one of his daughters, who helped us obtain permission from the "Historic Heartland Association". It was a relief when we finally contacted the right people, who were delighted with our project.
The location of these texts from this book used in The UnWritten are all located on one web page where each section of text is cited, including which page of the book from which it was quoted:

Personal Resources:
1. Vanselow, Freda. "The Life of a Sturdy Pioneer". Minnesota: A school project written in 1954. Permission to post her work was received from her through the mail.
In the year 1954 Freda Wynn wrote a biographical sketch of her grandfather Frank White as a school project. You can imagine Freda's surprise when we, a team of girls who live 3000 miles apart, that she did not know existed, contacted her and asked permission to post her school work from 46 years ago. My grandmother had a copy of this work from many years ago and had it stuck into the old photo box. Freda Wynn's (Vanselsow) school work has become a true family treasure.

3. Countryman, Sue. "My Harrison Family: Mary Harrison My Great Grandmother". California: A four image slide show sent to The UnWritten. Permission to post her slide show, her e-mail address, and one of her e-mail replies was received through e-mail.
We knew very little about Mary Harrison until we made contact through the web with one of her descendants, Sue Countryman of California. This new connection with a lost cousin provided us with great new information.
