The ChemoLab Team

Our team is composed of three high school students along with two adult advisors. We found each other over the Internet to participate in the 2000 ThinkQuest Internet Challenge Contest. ChemoLab is the result of long hours in front of the glowing monitors, gallons of beverages containing caffeine, and hundreds of funny remarks that kept us entertained as well as motivated. Perhaps the most important thing we learned from each other is how to listen first.

Here's a little bio of each one of us:

Simmon "Sim-Dog" Chen

Flash production, graphic designing, and content authoring

Simmon is the "go-between" of the project. He relayed information to everyone and got on people's backs when things were not running on schedule. Visit his site at http://paxsinica.com

Greg "IceMan" Burch

PHP programming and MySQL integration

Greg is the backend engineer of the site. He made sure that the dynamic navigation, the forums, and the database browser all functioned properly.

Andy "House" Pursehouse

Advanced Flash programming

Andy is our advanced Flash programmer. He created most of the awesome effects found in our Laboratory and then went to sleep. :-) Visit his and his brother's site at http://infinovation.com

Sherry Tipps

Ms. Tipps, our wonderful science teacher, made sure that we didn't make up stuff in our chemistry tutorials.
Ms. Tipps, "have you talked about oxidation numbers and electronegativity in the tutorials?"
Simmon, "umm, what's that?"

Denis Ivanov

Den taught us some of the coolest techniques which can be found in the Simulation section. For a while we thought he disappeared. We heard absolutely nothing from our Russian friend. It turns out that Den was, and I quote, "offically married". Congratulations!!

Gareth Pursehouse

What can we say about Gareth, or should I say, Liquid Acid? He is a very nice and knowledgeable coach. Check out his amazing site, which is never finished, from the link above.
