Every woman is different, and in every society is treated differently, yet for centuries, women all over the diverse world have struggled to redefine their lives and their roles in counrtry, culutre, and socity. Our site is designed to give a glimpse into these women's lives, their social laws, and their legal rights. We invite you to search through our information on women, past and present, in a variety of countries throughout the world. To better explain the religious basis of many cultures' view of women, we have included information about what is required of women in 5 different religions. We also include about 30 biographies of important women from all corners of the globe. We hope you will be intrigued enough to continue exploring this dynamic and global issue.
