Kiyosu Castle
Though no one is sure of who built this castle and when, some
people think Shiba Yoshishige built the Kiyosu between 1394 and 1427.
It was certain that in 1555,
Oda Nobunaga took control of the castle,
though. Eight years later, he left the castle for another castle: the
Komaki. The last owner of the Kiyosu was
Tokugawa Ieyasu's son, Yoshinao,
because it was torn down when he switched residences to the Nagoya
Castle.
It can been seen that the
tenshu of the Kiyosu was artistically
decorated by a view of its roof. Its gables
create a beautiful and pleasing shape that outlines and defines
the detailed
architecture used in designing it. It can also be
seen that the top of the tenshu was maybe used for entertainment
purposes because of the red railings. The balcony could have
been used for watching the moon at night like some other castles.
