In 1960 Mother Laurance and her husband moved
here to Mountain View. She has been serving food to people in the
Mountain View Community since she first moved here. When she first
came to Mountain View it was nice and quite and there were less
children. She thinks Mountain View is a nice place to raise a family.
Mother Laurence says she always had to fight for her rights. She feels being called Mother Laurance is an honor, because she can help a lot of people who are too poor to afford food from the Red Apple, Safeway, or any shopping store. She loves giving food out to the community because she enjoys doing God's work. She says it's not her, but it is God who chooses to give out food to the poor. When she was young her father also gave food out to his community.
