
Gymnastics
Gymnastics is a sport where individuals perform exercise to show their flexibility, grace, strength, precision, and balance. Hundreds of years ago gymnastics was only for men training to be in the army. In 1928 women were first allowed to compete in gymnastics. There are 4 events (categories) in womens gymnastics: vault, beam, uneven bars, and floor. There are 6 events (categories) in mens gymnastics: floor, pommel horse, vault, stationary rings, horizontal bars, and parallel bars.
Volleyball
William G. Morgan invented volleyball in 1895. Volleyball was induced in the Olympics in 1964 in Tokyo. There are 6 players on a team. There are three types of hits, the spike, set, and bump, and to perform these hits no equipment is used. Whatever team gets to at least 15 points and has a lead of at least 2 points is the winner.
