Polio
Polio is another disease that many Americans fear. It is not very common anymore in America. It is a disease that paralyzes you then can even kill you.
After reading so much about this it really made me think how lucky I am not to have some kind of life threatening disease, and to be able to get up every morning carefree and just go on with my day. I can’t bear to think of how it would feel to wake up one day and not be able to move either my arms or my legs. Or to have to get physical therapy every day just to know that my muscles still work. So just think about that whenever you go to the gym to work out how scary it would be if you woke up one morning and you could not move the muscle that you are working on right now. Or if you are getting into bed think about how it would feel if you needed an iron lung to breath.
