The cello has a full, rich, and beautiful sound. The instruments full
name is violincello. It used to be the least important instrument in the string
family, and composers gave it the least parts. The cello is a hollow wooden box with
strings stretched above the top of the instrument. It has four strings with more than
three octaves. When you are plucking the strings of a cello, it can make two different
sounds, pizzicato and tremolo. Most of the time, when you listen to an orchestra preform,
you can tell what parts the cellos are participating in.
