State Marine Mammal
The state marine mammal is called the Bowhead whale. It was adopted
in 1983. Since 1978 the International Whaling Commission short for
IWC. Has controlled the taking of both Bowheads and gray whales. Some
Alaskan Natives still use whales for food but they can only kill so
many.
