MAJOR GEOGRAPHIC FEATURES

British Columbia has mountain ranges from the southeast to the northeast. The Interior Plains of Canada, located in the northeast corner is flat to gently hilly landscapes. Glaciated ranges can be found in the Eastern Mountain System. Thes province is also dominated by the Rocky Mountains. The Rocky Mountains Trench is the most promented valley.

Two lakes of British Columbia are Prince George and Williams Lake. The proment rivers are the Fraser, Sheena, Columbia, Kootenay and the Peace River. Another Important river is the Stekina in northwest British Columbia.

Many natural lakes are found in this province. Among these are Babine, Atlin, Kootenay, Ootsa, Odanagan, Upper Arrow and Quesnel, and Lower Arrow and Quesnel. Williston Lake in a manmade lake on the Peace River.
