Ontario has an artic and subartic climate area in the north and a humid continental zone in the south. Cold artic air has affected the temperatures of Ontario. The mean temperature in January is -24.1 degrees Celsius (-11.4 F) and a mean July temperature of 15.9 degrees Celsius (60.6 F). Toronto, in the south, has a mean January temperature of -4.4 degrees Celsius (24 F) and a mean July temperature of 21.8 degrees Celsius (71.2 F).
