CLIMATE

The Yukon has a continental subartic climate. Winters are very cold and summers are warm to hot. They are also short. The average yearly temperature is 12 degrees Fahrenheit in the north and 31 degrees Fahrenheit in the extreme southeast. The coldest temperature recorded was a -63 degrees Celsius (-81.4 degrees Fahrenheit) in Snag, in 1947 and the warmest temperature was 36.1 degrees Celsius (97 degrees Fahrenheit) at Mayo, in 1949.
