ALBERTA

Alberta has many grasslands in the southeast. Flowering plants are common. The vetch, anemone, flowering cinquefoil and wild rose are a few. Common trees are aspens, spruce, pine, fir, and larch. Commercial forests cover 39% of the land. The provincial flower is the wild rose.

Large mammals found in Alberta include grizzly and black bear, moose, caribou, and elk. Also, there are whitetail deer, mule deer, coyote, mountain goats, and bighorn sheep. Common birds are praire chickens, partridge, and pheasant. Common fish are trout, walleye, whitefish, and northern pike.
