In a quiet walk through the woods you would probably encounter many things. One of them would probably be uprooted plants. Many of Hawaii's treasured plants are dug up and destroyed. This in particular is dug up ferns. It was probably an introduced animal. Becasue they are the biggest pests on the Hawaiian islands. Animals like the sheep, goat, boar, mongoose, cattle, and other introduced animals are a huge threat not only to the flora but to the fauna also. Feral animals trample and eat native plants and small animals, eventually these plants and animals become extinct.
