JANE GOODALL

She was born in London, on April 3,1934 (she is currently 64 years old now). When she was five she moved to France. Later still, she moved to England, where she (and her family) lived with her Grandma.

She worked awhile at Oxford University, until something happened that changed her life. An old friend from high school asked her to visit her in Kenya, Africa. She gladly accepted the invitation. She was twenty-three when she went to Africa.

It was on the Kenya Castal, the passenger liner she sailed on from England, that she first saw Africa. She always loved animals, and coming to Africa made it show more than ever. When she was there she began to work with Louis Leakey, who is famous for anthropology. He learned of her interest in chimps and suggested she go out in the wild and study them. And that is how it all began...
