Greece is located on a large
peninsula on the eastern edge of Europe. This peninsula is
called the Balkan Peninsula. The Balkan Peninsula is
surrounded by three different seas.
These seas include the Aegean,
Mediterranean, and the Ionian seas. Greece is mostly at the
tip of the peninsula which curves in to the Mediterranean
Sea.
The peninsula is almost split in
two by the surrounding seas of the Mediterranean and the
Aegean seas. The southern part, called the Peloponnesus, is
only connected by a small strip of land called an
isthmus.
