How do we know each other? Nicole and Ashley are both students at Red Mountain Ranch Elementary School. They are good friends and have been in the same class for the past two years. Mrs. Amy Karbula is their sixth grade teacher. Both students say she is one of the best teachers they have ever had! And where does Mr. Dale Pickering fit in? Well, he is an art teacher at Red Mountain Ranch Elementary School. Both Nicole and Ashley have had him as their wonderful art teacher for the past two years. And that's how we fit together!

Name: Amy Karbula Occupation: Teacher/ ThinkQuest Coach I have true love for teaching whether it is with children or adults. I enjoy being around people. I love to laugh =-). In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, shopping, and going out to eat.

I am currently a 6th grade teacher at Red Mountain Ranch Elementary School in Mesa, AZ. I have been teaching for 13 years. I have taught many different age groups in the elementary school, but find 6th graders to be my favorite. I love the curriculum, the kids and the energy that they give to me each and every day.

Working on this project has been an eye opener for me in many ways. I have learned SO much about technology, how to be a guide on the side, and to empower students with their own learning. Being a 6th grade teacher puts me in the difficult situation of having to send my kids on to the junior high at the end of the year. I hate to see them go , but I know I am sending them on with memories that they will keep forever.

Name: Dale Pickering Occupation: Art Teacher/ ThinkQuest Coach I enjoy teaching very much, especially at the elementary level. The kids are so willing to learn new things about art, about technology, and about themselves. In my spare time I like to cook, and work with my computer.

I have been teaching for 30 years at various grade levels. I am appreciating more and more the enthusiasm and performance of elementary kids. Teaching art to grades 4, 5, and 6 is great.

This web project has allowed me to get to know staff members and students in different ways than is ordinarily possible, since I travel from school to school on a daily basis and have over 1100 students in my classes!

I am happy to see a real integration of technology, art, and other areas of the curriculum coming to life. When students see the relationships between the various aspects of their lives and discover what binds them together, they will be able to handle most of what life will have to offer.

I have had a wonderful time working on this project. I have learned so much! I would like to thank everyone on this team for working so hard on our website (especially Mr. Pickering and Mrs. Karbula, who have helped and supported Ashley and me from start to finish). We made a great team! This has been a wonderful experience and I hope to have another one like it in my future. I hope everyone has as much fun looking at our website, as I had creating it!

I had an absolutely wonderful time working on this web-site! I had a great team, and worked with outstanding mentors.
