The Space Challenger Center was built because of the Challenger Shuttle, it is also in memory of Christa McAuliffe. It is being built so kids around the state can learn about space and science. Kids will learn about space and science at the Challenger Space Center by the simulators and hands on learning experiences. If it wasn't for the City of Kenai, grants, and numerous contributions from individuals and businesses, the center wouldn't be possible.
