Can Fish Sleep?

p33.jpg (153978 bytes)Like cats take catnaps, and dogs sleep, fish also need to rest. When fish sleep they stay very still. Fish never get in very deep sleeps, even the slightest wave or movement can wake the fish up. Fish do not have eyelids. Some fish use their fins to balance themselves in the water. These fish sleep without resting against something.

There is also a fish called Slippery Dick, a fish found in coral reefs, it likes to sleep under a sand blanket, which it makes by burrowing under the sand.
