Summary: Matt stood by the frozen stream. A dark shadow was moving toward him. He turned around, and it was his family. He saw his mother, father, and sister, but where is the new baby?

The Excitement

I stood by the frozen stream. I saw a shadow of a man. I turned around.   It was Pa! I ran to him wrapping my arms around him in excitement.  I unwrapped my arms and ran to help my mother down from the sled and gave her a big hug.   I saw Sarah jump off the sled, and I ran to give her a big hug, too.  I took my mother, helped her into the cabin, and set her by the fire.  I looked into her eyes and saw that they were still glistening.  I ran out to help Pa unload the sled.   As my family and I sat down at the table with the 4 bowls of soup that I made, the sadness of the news that the baby had died was filled with happiness as I told them that I had an Indian brother.
