I've carved 10 notches and they have not come back. My family has been gone much longer than 7 weeks. I sat outside thinking about my parents, wondering what had happened to them. Looking in the sky I saw a big flock of geese.   they looked like smoke flying across the sky. I took a walk through the forest seeing all the markings of the beaver of the trees. As I walked back, I felt safe and not alone.  I knew the way back from learning all that Attean had taught me. As I entered the cabin, I put all the things away, locked the door, and sat on my bed wondering whether my parents would ever arrive and worrying about what was going to happen tomorrow.
